Today in winter wonderland! - Prospect Park

Every Tuesday is LoLo and mom day! Last week Tuesday we spent in Prospect Park. We love Prospect Park and don't go nearly as often as we should,
because all covered in snow it felt a like we just stepped into a winter wonderland.

The entrance to the park was like a magical alley leading to surprises ...

A lone runner passed by us, while the sun amazingly lit the glistening white trees and ground ...

The picnic house and tables were also covered in a white coat ...

The snow was so deep - it was a workout to get to the sledding hill

And this is the moment when you arrive .. backwards from the hill ...

"Yumm, this snow is delicious" .. as it kept falling from the tree branches

Isn't this beautiful?

Three hours later we were on our way back home ... Full of nature ...

We love you Prospect Park! :)

A trip to Vermont

We went to see friends to Vermont this weekend. I've been to VT before, but never in the middle of the foliage. It is sooo sooo sooo beautiful! No, it is gorgeous! Here are some photos I took ...

And I had to do a quick family shoot of course .. :)

And no photo, but guess what Elvi brought home from Vermont (besides some delicious maple syrup)?
I know you won't guess it unless you have been following
my Facebook page and seen this photo below ...

Yupp, we brought home a big bag of leaves (I know, I know .. I am crazy :), but I could not resist the colors, or the fact that they of the most amazing colors one has seen!
(Though these from Prospect Park on the photo are no too bad either)

Happy Fall LoLovies! xox LV

Inspired by Paris

I just came back from Paris and I am so inspired by all things crafty I've seen that I've collected projects for the next 4 years, I think.

Here are some of my favorite pillows ...

Cool ideas ...
Birdcages are so in. Everyone has them and this one is unique with a plate bottom. A few dry cleaning hangers and an old plate and a very strong glue is all you need (I think).

Tie messenger bag

Doll house (wall hanging made from cardboard)
How cute is this? I almost bought it, but figured 20 Euros was a bit too much for something I could easily whip up. There was also a garage, a laundry and a bedroom wall.

Cute coasters
A bit of vinyl, felt for the bottom and embroidery. Easy peasy!

Ribbon store in Marais
I bought a few iron ons and a button to be made into a ring.

Graphics I love
My drawing talent stops at a snowman and a house (maybe a flower) so I always search for cute images that I could possibly copy onto a t-shirt or another project .. Check these out ...

Could be made into pillows?

Art

Sweat Shop Paris (thumbs down)
Ohhh this was my only Paris disappointment! I bought their book a while ago and got myself so excited about visiting this place. It just seemed like the coolest hang out for like minded crafters.
The book has beautiful images of pastry and cakes and drinks and I imagined an adorable Parisian cafe with a workroom at the back. Well, not only that there was no pastry and coffee, when I walked in the people pretty much looked at me like "what does this person want?".  I felt so cheated! I made my friends do all this hike for a view of a work table and 4 miserable people cutting their fabric.
Lesson learnt! Don't believe the pictures!

Photo styling - shoes

I started a Photo Styling course at FIT and I am so excited about it! This is the first time I am going to school and studying what I actually like.

There will be 4 photo shoots during the semester - shoes, food, personal transformation and fashion. We are divided in groups of four and everyone plays a different role during the shoot. We've just completed the first shoot "shoes". The shoe was intended to tell the story, so we thought about gardening, English rose gardens and Betsy Johnson as themes for the set and decided to finally go with gardening ...

We tried many variations on the set - styling the shoes in pairs and separate, on a bed of roses, petals, dirt, stems ... etc. These three photos came out the best ...

This was the teacher's and my favorite shot

The placement of the two shoes on this photograph is "perfect" we were told :)

The group's favorite ...

No wonder I am having hard time at photo compositions ... We tried so many options and angles and placements of these shoes before we got these ...

Lo(lo)V(i)E to all! I'll back with a tutorial!

Coney Island by LoLo

Daddy finally stayed home from work and took us with mom to Coney Island. It was mom's idea, because she secretly likes taking photos of amusement parks and loves cotton candy
(though she would never eat it in front of us, because we are not allowed to eat all that sugar ... )

It was really boring to wait for daddy to buy tickets, but he told us we'll be able to ride on the train, so I didn't get upset and was a patient little girl even though it was so hot
and I never like to wait for anything in general.

I am obsessed with fire trucks. Every time I see one, I go "viieeeeuuuuuu vieeeuuuu" and all at once, everyone else goes "viiieeeuuu viiiieeeuuu" back - like I taught them something ...

Lola:
This seems to be the single most exciting event for London, so we all pretend to be equally excited (we are not really, but don't tell him, ok?) I only get excited about shoes and make-up and watches.
Many, many, many watches!

And candy sometimes ....

London: After the fire truck, we boarded the train. We sat in the conductor's wagon and went around about 3 times in a circle. It was a bit boring, because it went soooo slooooowwww, but daddy and mommy seemed to like it a lot going "choooo choooo" every few minutes, so we played along ...

Lola is so wild! She wants to try everything, but I am more cautious - like my daddy. Mommy and Lola tried out the big wheel. Mommy told me to say here, that this is not the only dress she owes and that not all her dresses cost 6.99 USD - just for the record.
Although, you may think that way because of her previous post ..

London, of course wanted to go also after he saw how brave and happy I was. So, I lucked out and got to do another round .. The world was so different from up here!
Like from an airplane but not quite!~

This thing was HUGE, huh?

Here are all the details for you intellectual folks ...

Then it was pizzatime! We LOVE pizza and think it's the best food ever made. DaMo (Dad and Mom - well, if they can call us LoLo we can call them DaMo, right?) doesn't think it's really healthy for us, so we always want to go to birthday parties, because we know that there will be pizza and cake and a candle at some point during the celebration and they will never say "NO" at a party ...
We've got it all figured out!

The corn was also delicious!

After all that food we could barely walk, so we took a horse drawn carriage ride instead of a stroll.

And a boat ride on a fake lake going around and around!
Lola kept ringing the bell and I just kept dreaming, like the boat's name ....

Finally, mom wanted her share of fun and caught a frog and a prize of an ugly green fish, that nobody wants and will most likely end up in the charity store nearby.

Then it was off to LoLa's shop "Lola Star" on the boardwalk - I mean not really LoLa's, but mom had a t-shirt with "LoLa" on it from here before she was even born. Don't worry, she also has a "London" t-shirt .. though no "I heart Geoffrey" kind just yet ...

We boarded our car seats, fell asleep in a second and arrived home in about half an hour ...
What a great day!

Kisses, LOLO
